After the previous step, lashes and brows will have the consistency of cooked spaghetti. It's the job of the fixing lotion to bring the pH of the lash or brow back to neutral so the cuticles will close and "fix" the hair permanently into their new shape.

Many fixing lotions use harsh ingredients such as Sodium Bromate — a substance which several countries have banned from use in cosmetic products. Ruthie Belle's radically gentle fixing lotion contains no sodium bromate and works like a hair conditioner after shampooing — to close cuticles and leave lashes and brows healthy and strong!

After the lifting lotion step, lashes and brows have the same consistency as cooked spaghetti. The purpose of the Fixing Lotion is to "fix" the new shape of the lash or brow permanently in place by closing the cuticle.

Ruthie Belle's Fixing Lotion works in essentially the same way as Ruthie Belle's Easy Lift Primer — only in reverse. Ruthie Belle's Fixing Lotion slowly lowers the pH of the lash back to neutral, gently closing the lash cuticle and restoring the disulfide bonds that were broken in the earlier steps.

Many low to mid-range fixing lotions use sodium bromate — a chemical which has been banned from cosmetic use in several countries. Sodium bromate is especially drying for lashes; during the fixing process, it breaks down into bromate salts which linger on the lashes as a drying residue well after the procedure has finished!

For this reason, Ruthie Belle's Fixing Lotion is formulated using hydrogen peroxide instead of sodium bromate. During the fixing process, the hydrogen peroxide (H202) also breaks down — but the byproducts produced are O (oxygen) and H20 (water!).

How to use:

Use a wand or microfiber brush to apply a generous, even coating starting from the outside corner of the eye inward, from root to tip. Use approximately 3 pumps per treatment.

ATTENTION: The processing time for Ruthie Belle's Fixing Lotion is always 7 minutes, regardless of the client's lash thickness and length.

*Lash Artist Tip* Take care to keep lashes/brows in place during the fixing stage. If any rogue lashes/brows pop off the rod before the fixing lotion is removed, they will not be curled as effectively, which creates a messy, uneven finished look.

Ruthie Belle's Fixing Lotion is Step 3 of the 5 Step Lash Lift. Lash Fixing is preceded by Ruthie Belle's Lifting Lotion, and followed by Eyelash Tint and Shine Repair.

Effects will last for 6-8 weeks. However, due to the gentleness of Ruthie Belle's Organic Lash Lift products, the treatment can be repeated at any time.
